My debut album "I Was Lost But Now My Feet Are Back On The Ground" was written over a period of almost 6 months beginning in the summer of 2014. During this period I was having a somewhat difficult transition in my life. At the time I had left my job of almost 2 years to go back to school. I was trying to find my place in the world and wasn't finding any answers.
While this was going on, I felt like my music wasn't paying off in the way I was hoping. What I mean is I felt like my music was sadly not making an impact the way I was hoping it would. To quote Alan McGee "It's really difficult to do something when no one else cares". That's how I was starting to feel about my music at the time.
It was during this time when I started listening to NASA recordings which ended up becoming my main influence for this album. I wanted to create this otherworldly and ethereal sound. I spent the last half of 2014 writing the songs which became the songs you hear on this album. Two of these tracks were songs that I had originally written a few years ago but were reworked significantly here.
The album was recorded at Ardent Studios in January of 2015. Each of the tracks were recorded in one take, with only a couple of overdubs overall.
Making this album was one of the best experiences of my life. Not only did I get to record my music in one of the greatest studios in the world, but I felt like my feet were back on the ground.
I hope whoever may find this album, will enjoy what sounds you may hear.
